Too $hort claimed he was retiring in 1996 when he dropped album #10 Gettin' It, but aplayer like $hort couldn't stay away. After a three-year hiatus, he got back in the gameand on July 11th, 1999, he dropped his 11th studio album aptly named Can't StayAway. Too $hort had been living in Atlanta for several years and this would be the firstof many albums to come that would incorporate ATL's southern influences alongsidehis West Coast Bay Area sound. Jazze Pha, Jermaine Dupri, and NY to ATLtransplant funk lord Erick Sermon contributed to the production along with features byMemphis' 8Ball & MJG and Houston's Scarface.
